Ribbed/Poly V Belts

A ribbed belt, also known as a Poly V belt or multi-ribbed belt, is designed for efficient power transmission across multiple components. It features V-shaped ribs running along its inner surface, which engage with the grooves of pulleys to maximize contact area and enhance grip.

Commonly used in automotive applications, this type of belt is often referred to as a serpentine belt due to its ability to drive multiple engine components—such as the alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor—using a single belt. Its large contact surface ensures higher power transmission capability, improved efficiency, and reduced slippage compared to traditional V-belts.

With its compact design and enhanced durability, the ribbed belt is also widely used in industrial machinery and appliances, where it provides smooth and reliable performance.
